History of Rye Girls Softball
Our History
Rye Girls Softball was founded in 1975 and is the longest running girls recreational organization in the City of Rye.
Legend has it that Steven DeRenzis's wife, frustrated that her son was able to play Little League Baseball but her daughters had limited opportunities, told Steve "you are done with work at 2:30pm, organize something for our girls to do".
And 47 years later, we are proud to continue to provide an opportunity for over 200 girls in the City of Rye to "have something to do" while developing integral skills for all facets of life.
