Fall 2021 Travel Registration is Open!

NEW IN 2021: We are piloting a partnership with Warrior Sports Academy in Port Chester to provide a higher level of competitive play, coaching and skill development for our travel programs. This is similar to the approach Rye Little League and many of the Westchester area softball programs have taken with their travel teams.

Our goal is that this Fall 2021 partnership continues with Winter training opportunities, along with Fall, Spring and Summer Travel teams to supplement our regular Spring recreational programs.

Tryouts will be required for these teams. Warrior Sports Academy will run these evaluation sessions to create team rosters of 12-15 players. Below is the schedule for evaluations (you will only need to attend only one of them):

  • Week of July 19th or Week of July 26th

  • Monday August 16th

Fall Ball takes place from late August/early September through the first week of November. The commitment is one doubleheader on weekends (Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning/afternoon) and 2 weekday/weeknight practices.

Coaching for these teams will consist of one head coach from Warrior Sports Academy, plus a few Rye Girls Softball parent coaches. Warrior coaches are responsible for all key decisions with parents providing assistance and support.

Registration Site: Please register your daughter by clicking on the following link:

Registration Cost: Registration cost is $625 per player. Uniform costs will be an additional charge. This is a substantial discount to the typical travel program cost and includes the costs associated with paid coaches and Warrior facilities.

Registration Deadline: Wednesday August 11, 2021

Please note: This is a TRAVEL league against teams throughout Westchester County. In the past, it has been a great experience for players looking to expand their softball skills and play against higher levels of competition in the area

Eligibility: We will field teams for the following age groups:

10U (10 years old and younger as of January 1, 2021)
12U (12 years old and younger as of January 1, 2021)
14U (14 years old and younger as of January 1, 2021)
16U (16 years old and younger as of January 1, 2021)

***Eligibility is limited to:

(i) girls who are at least 9 years old as of January 1, 2021 AND in at least 2nd grade

(ii) girls who participated in organized youth softball during the 2021 Spring season or other previous softball experience

(iii) girls who have been part of a Rye High School softball team

The number of teams will be based on how many girls we have registered for each age range. To the extent there are insufficient roster spots for your daughter, registration fees will be REFUNDED IN FULL.

2021 Covid-19 Protocol

We are doing our best to keep up with the evolving COVID protocols, particularly as it relates to required quarantine.  Rye Girls Softball is seeking to align as closely as possible with the approach Rye City School District (RCSD) is taking (which is aligned with Westchester County Department of Health), and we will update our approach as protocols continue to evolve. If you have any doubts, please err on the conservative side so that we can avoid unnecessary mass quarantines across our league.

Here are a few key points to keep in mind:

  • Any player placed in quarantine by the Westchester County Department of Health may not play with Rye Girls Softball until she has been cleared.  Put even more simply, if your child CANNOT attend school, she CANNOT participate in Rye Girls Softball.
  • We are following Westchester County Department of Health guidelines related to travel, which currently state:
    • Travel to a state non-contiguous to New York for more than 24 hours REQUIRES quarantine for three days, plus a COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to returning from your destination and on day 4 after returning, both of which much come back negative.  The second test must be a PCR.
    • Travel outside of the U.S. REQUIRES quarantine for seven days, if you take a COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to returning from your destination and on days 3-5 after returning OR quarantine for ten days.  The second test must be a PCR.
  • Masks will be mandatory for all players and coaches at all times, which is aligned with the varsity softball protocols.  Gaiter masks will not be permitted.  The mask requirement applies to spectators as well.
  • Spectators will be limited to two per player at any games or practice.
