As part of our efforts to continuously improve the opportunities for our players to develop, learn and compete, Rye Girls Softball has been granted a charter with Little League Softball (https://www.littleleague.org/play-little-league/softball/) as a member of District 20 starting with the 2022 season.

Little League Softball® was established in 1974 and today there are approximately 300,000 athletes in more than 25 countries participating in Little League Softball programs.  Softball initially began with only two divisions, Little League® and Senior League, but now offers programs for girls ages 4 through 16.  Every year, local Little Leagues register players who reside or attend school within their boundaries to create teams and play a regular season against neighboring communities.  In June, leagues have the opportunity to select and enter all-star teams to compete in the Little League International Tournament.

Most Rye Girls Softball programs will remain similar to how we have run things in the past, although affiliating with Little League Softball will allow us to compete during the recreational season with other local teams in District 20.  Some of the local towns with softball programs include Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Eastchester, Elmsford, Harrison, Hastings, Kensico, Larchmont-Mamaroneck, Port Chester, Rye Brook, Scarsdale, Sherman Park and White Plains.
