Rye Girls Softball (RGS) 2024 Spring League Registration Now Open!

We are excited about the 2024 RGS season given the record number of players last spring, the high level of competition exhibited, our community collaboration with Port Chester, and our new association with Little League Softball (District 20)!  Looking forward to seeing your players on the field in the spring!

Season: All regular season games are played in Rye or neighboring towns that participate in Little League District 20.  Practices will begin in late March (weather dependent) and games will be played from early April through early June.  Opening Day Parade will be on Saturday, April 13th, 2024 at 11 am (details to follow).

Eligibility: Registration is open to all players born between 2008 and 2018 (6U-14U) who live in Rye or Port Chester or non-residents attending a Rye or Port Chester school.

Ages and Divisions:

Rye Girls Softball became affiliated with Little League Softball in 2022.  As such, we adjusted some of our divisions to conform to age limits and Little League guidance.  “League age” is determined by the player’s age as of January 1st.   

Tee Ball (6U) - Players are league age 6 for below (born in 2017-2018).  Focus is on fundamentals and basic softball skills with games introduced midway through the season.

Minor Division

·       Lower (8U): Players are league age 7 and 8 (born in 2015-2016)

·       Upper (10U): Players are league age 9 and 10 (born in 2013-2014)

Major Division (12U) – Players are league age 11 and 12 (born in 2011-2012)

Junior League (14U) – Players are league age 13 and 14 (born in 2009-2010)

Note: Minor Upper or Major players who have demonstrated a high level of skill may request permission to “play up” in a higher division. These players will be evaluated and placement will be contingent on registration numbers in order to manage roster sizes.

Registration Cost: $300 for registrations until January 31st.  Registrations beginning February 1st will incur a $50 late fee.  Discounts for families with multiple players will be offered in the registration process.

Tentative Schedule (subject to change):

Tee Ball (6U) – Practices/games on Sundays between 10-12 am; practices on weekdays between 5-7 pm @ Milton.

Minor and Major Divisions – Games primarily on Saturdays at Milton or Disbrow, with some on Sundays or weekdays; practices on weekdays (TBD) between 5-7 pm.

Senior Division (14U) – Weekend games with some Fridays; practices TBD given school sports schedules
